We are 3 days away from the anticipated release of Gears of War 2 for the XBOX 360, but here at GamersPlatform, we have had a chance to spend time through the first Act of the game! Since this is not a review because I haven’t completely finished the game, we are just going to give some initial impressions on my experience with the game.

The story begins as the Queen is narrating on how Marcus destroyed some hordes of the Locust with a bomb in the first game. Then the prologue mission starts. It starts in the Hospital where Dom is also in search for his wife. Well that’s all I’m going to give out for now because it will really spoil the game. If you haven’t played the first game, I suggest to do it now before jumping into the game.

The only thing I’ve noticed so far is that you can track your achievements and a bunch of unlockables to unlock that will surely add some replay value of the game after finishing it. It is just like the previous game with five acts divided into different chapters. I am guessing that the game would be the same length as the first one.

The game feels like Gears 1. It is just a continuation of the story where no new weapons have been added (so far), but that is a good thing!

Anyway, we have just started to spend more time, so a review should be ready by the time the game comes out!
