Star Ocean: First Departure is the remake of the original game that came out on the Super Famicom years ago. Thanks to Square-Enix, us here in the United States will finally see how the Star Ocean series started with full voice overs, anime cutscenes, and a lot more!

In this game guide, we will try to make it as spoiler-free as possible for everyone to enjoy. I highly suggest that you skip the guide when you’re supposed to because this guide contains screenshots that will spoil the game. We warned you! Don’t blame it on us!

Prologue

CHAPTER OVERVIEW: Welcome! This Chapter will basically give you a basic insight on our main characters. There is really nothing major here, so enjoy!

KURTUS VILLAGE
Treasures: Flare Bomb, Resurrection Elixir (Front of Defense Force HQ), Blueberries (Millie’s House), Talisman, (Front of Weaponshop), Blackberries (Inside of Defense Force HQ), Blueberries x5 & Twice Cooked Pork (From Captain of Defense Force HQ)

Enter the Hero’s name.

You have to patrol the village with Millie, Dorne, and Roddick

Talk to everyone and explore the entire Village.

Don’t forget to get all the treasures.

Once you’re done, go back to the Defense Force HQ to trigger a scene

Approach the two bandits in the town and prepare for battle

This is your first battle. Press X repeatedly to do a combo. L or R Button for Special Attacks, and the Analog/D-Pad for moving the characters. This is an easy battle.

After defeating the two set of bandits, prepare for an easy Boss Fight with the Leader

Same as the bandits, this is an easy battle. Millie will act as the healer while Dorne and Roddick will do the attacks.

Celebrate! Yet, Roddick is not in the mood. Go to sleep!
