Not even released in the US yet, and Fifa 09 has already broken the record for the fastest selling soccer (or football if you are picky) game ever, having already sold 1.2 units in the Euro market alone. EA Sports president Peter Moore had this to say:

FIFA Soccer 09 is EA’s best soccer offering to date featuring game modes such as Be A Pro: Seasons, 10 vs.10 Online Team Play, FIFA 09 “Clubs” and the adidas Live Season service. This is our fastest selling FIFA game of all time and it’s rewarding to see the game so high on the list of must-have titles this holiday.”
This game is poised to push a lot more units once it hits North America and Asia on October 14th, and soon to follow on Wii and the DS October 28th.
