MTV Games confirmed today that there will indeed be both DLC and online multiplayer for the Nintendo Wii when Rock Band 2 releases later this year, which shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, seeing as how the Wii version sold the best.

This comes as very good news for those Wii owners, especially after being left out with Rock Band 1, although, this makes the decision even harder for us, between Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero: World Tour, which will also have plentiful online functionality.

For those that haven’t made the leap to next-gen, bad news for you, as the PS2 version will not feature any online gameplay.
