I love Call of Duty for the different pace it has compared to Halo and other FPS. I also love that one of the starting weapons can last you forever without ever becoming underpowered (M16 ftw!).

Call of Duty 4 is by far my favorite multiplayer FPS. It goes just beyond killing people for frags. The level up system really gives you incentive to play well, while the perks add a whole new dynamic to the standard game. At first, I wasn’t convinced I was going to like this game. However, after playing the beta I knew this game would be something special. Seriously, every 360 owner needs to have this game.

Before Call of Duty 4 was released, I was burnt out on the FPS genre. The Xbox 360 kept spewing out new FPS’ seemingly every week. It was like watching a Chuck Norris movie every day for the rest of your life. Then COD4 came out in November.

It was like a ray of light. This game singlehandedly changed my perspective on FPS’. I fell in love with the genre again thanks to this game. From the amazing opening execution sequence to the insanely addictive multiplayer, COD4 gave me that warm fuzzy feeling of experiencing greatness.

Call of Duty 4 is one of the greatest video games, ever.

Call of Duty 4 has forever changed my view of FPS. When I was first introduced to FPS (through Halo) I thought it was just killing randomly and killing the most for fun, with no skill involved whatsoever. Now playing COD4, I realized that you have to play strategically. Instead of just scoring hits on a person’s body, you should aim for the head because its quicker. Teamwork is ACTUALLY teamwork! Finally!

Also, the campaign was great! With the return of Cpt. Price, the story took twists and turns I didn’t expect. The mission I liked the most was Ghullies in the Mist because it was mainly a sniping/recon mission. And the ending kinda sucked but at least they left it open to speculation.

In conclusion, I believe that darth007 summed it up well, “COD4 is one of the greatest video games ever.”

I loved cod4. I rented the game thinking it was another call of duty game, but after I played it online and played the single player missions, I fell in love. I play this game almost nightly.

I really like the Call of Duty 4 online multiplayer. Its fun to go through and try to do certain thinks in order to unlock new weapons, attachments, gun camouflages, and perks. I really like the Call of Duty 4 ranking system. Single player was a blast to play too!

Call of Duty 4, in my opinion, is one of the greatest FPS’s of all time. I bought it a couple of months after its release. I began playing the campaign which was fun and difficult at the same time. The sniper missions blew me away. Every tactic and way MacMillan made me maneuver; it was simply amazing. Then last weekend, I bought LIVE. I played online and of course it was fun playing with my buddies. Yeah, I’m supposed to be studying for a Western Civ test. O_O

Call of Duty 4 is an amazing game. Great story and the multiplayer has been keeping me occupied for a while now (which is a good thing since I don’t have to spend money on a new game, lol). Good job to Infinity Ward for making this awesome game.

Before COD4, I had never played a Call of Duty game. However, COD4 shares the same addicting aspect as my past love, Counter-Strike. Though COD4’s learning curve and perhaps even skill level is not as great as CS, the thing about COD4 is it’s Perks system, which is very similar to different mods on CS, and great for users because we’re suckers for customization.

That being said, single player has it moments. Overall, addicting multiplayer packed with solid gameplay makes a good FPS to hold onto.

This game rocks. Call of duty 2 was great, but in call of duty they really amped the experience up. All the new perks, great online play, and amazing story mode, Call of Duty 4 is easy one of the best xbox 360 titles out there.

CoD 4 was a great single-player experience and the Online play was as deep as any FPS I’ve seen before. I look forward to playing the new maps.

CoD 4 is by far the best FPS to hit the 360. Not only is the single player awesome and has ridiculous replay value ( arcade mode anyone). But the multilayer eats your life away. Its like they filled the multi player with crack (prestige mode) and sent it into a drug rehab clinic. Thats activision ill be in video game rehab soon!

This game is just plain awesome. There is a reason it became game of the year after being released near the end of the year - it is just plain out great. Take the best war movies you’ve ever seen, take all the good scenes, mash them together and make it interactive, and you’ve got Call of Duty 4. Like how? You’ll be acting in levels similar to Black Hawk Down in a recuse mission in an urban area; playing as a hidden sniper infiltrating enemy lines. The game takes you in on the many different units that work together to accomplish the mission. A lot of parts will only leave you sitting there in awe. With an excellent single player mode worth replaying over and over again, and a very solid multiplayer mode, this game belongs in any FPS gamer’s collection.

CoD4 is very good, while not the best FPS experience it has amazing multiplayer and a great story, which easily makes it top 10 in terms of FPSes. This was my first CoD title and I was impressed, I always heard good things about it, and my expectations were met. This is my game of choice if I had to choose Halo 3 or this, mainly because it doesn’t feel like I’m walking through molasses when I’m playing CoD4.

Call of Duty 4 is a pretty awesome game. The real fun thing about the online is the perks system. I just loved trying to get that next goal to get that laser sight or whatever. I also like how it is pretty different from Halo 3. I love Halo 3, but sometimes I just need a change of pace…

Call Of Duty 4 is the best one in the series. One of the best games out this year and on the xbox 360. The campaign was great, especially the prologue. The mile high club level was difficult but extremely fun and entertaining. The multiplayer is great too, and even greater with your best buds. You can play for several hours and not get bored of it. Overall, this game is realistic and is awesome. This is one game I will never get tired of playing.

Just when I thought every console game that was being released was another boring FPS, Call of Duty 4 came along and just blew me away. The single player mode is great, but it’s the multiplayer where the game approaches another level. The different mode types, fun maps, and the large amount of online players, it is great.

With the Xbox 360 infamous for the overwhelming amount of First Person Shooters the console supports many non Call of Duty fans were skeptic about the newest game by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. When CoD 4 was released the game showed the world that there is hope in the sea of video games.

Despite being a fan of the Call of Duty series since the first game and having played the CoD 4 beta I was still blown away with almost everything the game had. From stunning graphics to excellent gameplay the game shined in almost all areas. The single player campaign in my opinion had a great story, good voice acting, and the intensity of war was present in almost every corner. There have been very few games which have made me awed at what the game presented to me. The epilogue level, “Mile High Club”, was a level so frustrating and so sadistic that I tried for almost five months to beat the level in veteran mode. There have been very few games which made me determined to beat to complete a level, even if it was for a mere 20 achievement points.

While I would rather have a single player only game than a single player and multiplayer game this is one game which also excels in multiplayer.

With addicting, fast and swift gameplay almost every match is exciting and fast paced. The ranking system itself rivals most games which rely on the it so the majority of its players would continue to play and yet the ranking in CoD 4 is optional.

Overall Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is a shining example of what a First Person Shooter should be. With Infinity Ward working on a new game I would not be surprised if the next I.W. game is released while I was still playing Call of Duty 4.

It all started at Call of Duty 2, still one of the best FPS i’ve played in a while. Everyone likes playing FPS war games set in a real time period. Well, what better time period then the Present?

Incoming, Call of Duty 4. Everyone’s towel head arabian killing dreams come true. This is the closest most people will get to war and killing towellybans. Amazing and short Campaign mode with one of the best story’s in a FPS IMO. Comes with a nice plot twist. But the icing on the cake has got to be…dun dun DUNNNN!!! The Multiplayer, I haven’t had this much fun in multiplayer FPS since Halo 2. The one hit killers are scary for noobies but the pros know its not the size of the gun that matters its how you spray it(same thing your gf told me last nite).

But what an amazing game, I want my free maps please.

P.S. Give Call of Duty 5 back to Infinity War, NO MORE WWII damn it!

When Duty Calls I like Taking It!

I have only played the first Call of Duty, and don’t really remember what I thought about it then. Now, I bought my xbox just a year ago and heard, that COD3 wasn’t that good. Went with GoW instead. I missed the overall COD4 hype, since Mass Effect took most of my time. My COD4 spark was lit when I played this game on a demo stand. I was blown away by the overall FUN of the gameplay.

And that’s what great games are all about: fun. Call of Duty 4 manages to capture that essence, by being the most fun FPS on the market ever. From it’s quick-but-sweet campaign to it’s longlasting multiplayer, COD is worth every dollar. I can’t really nitpick about the game, since I’ve had it for a short while, but I’m really impressed. It’s the perfect FPS for this gen.

I Have Played All Cod’s Throughout the series and COD4 is By far The Best
I think the online features are great as well as the graphics.
I dont Think A COD5 should be released, instead Infinity Ward & Activision Should releade new maps and updates every so often and it could become one of the most succesful online games ever ! :)

I think CoD4 is one of the most ambitious shooters to date. not because it is groundbreaking but by what it set out to achieve. A solid FPS that went toe-to-toe with MS’s “halo” game, coincidentally name Halo (3).

Setting the game in the present freed up a lot of cobwebs in the franchise. I frankly am happy about two things in the latest CoD 4 game:

    1) the depth provided with the perks system in online multiplayer. It constantly allows variety in stale aftermath of playing for hours in multiplayer (map variety only goes so far)

    2) I am really good at this game. So it makes it even easier for me to be happy about it :)

Therefore, I would appreciate any opportunity to get the latest map packs for free and I appreciate gamersplatform for doing this.

When I first got CoD4 for 360, I pretty much fell in love with it. I jammed through the campaign and hopped online to score some online frags. It was great for the first few months but my interest slowly slipped. I think this happened most likely because of my already lacking interest in 360 FPS’s (too many for me), and that although the combat in CoD4 360 is really solid, I just prefer the KB/M combo. Overall, it’s a great game. Campaign and multiplayer modes alike.

COD4 is one of the more interesting games I’ve played of late. While the single-player was underwhelming at best, the multiplayer really shines. It’s a refreshing change, offering tangible rewards for leveling up without unbalancing the game - I find myself employing starting weapons on a regular basis for reliability and overall versatility. The character ‘build’ setup and the perk system helps keep thing fresh, even if a few of them tend to make many of the others superfluous.

This has to be my favorite game ever. This and gears of war are very close to being my favorites. COD4 is fast paced and constantly packed with action. The single player is challenging and is interesting. The multiplayer is one of the best out there. Always things to do whether it is prestige mode or completing challenges.

i loved call of duty 4 for its fast pace action sequences, and the great online battles.
The game also stands out as an individual as far as online play is concerned, calling in airstrikes and helicopter support to take down vast numbers of opposing players, and the reward system that battlefield created, but call of duty perfected!

i wuld have liked to see a covery system, but I also think it would have killed call of dutys fast paced feel. so it was probabley good to leave that out

COD4 is Infinity Ward at the top of their game. They had been slowly improving on their work since Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, won acclaim for both COD1 and COD2. And COD4, finally getting them out of WW2, brought an addictive RPG-like online component. A must buy.

Call of Duty 4 still is my favorite game (not only FPS but every genre). I bought it the first day it came out and I still play it every day. The Multiplayer is great and because of the Prestige mode you never get bored. And Create A Class is fricking asowme. Putting a scope on you gun a silencer extra frag grenade everything it’s just perfect. The map are very good not perfect to be honest but still there realy realy good! And people still are playing this game day and night since this game got released. And there’s never a moment that you cant find a game of the mode you wanna play.
    So..

    CALL OF DUTY 4!
